Wow! Just wonderful.
I enjoyed the, E. You are an inspiration!
nostalgia is not, in fact, what it used to be.
nostalgia was about smells (home cooking, school, the park, sulphur from matches,)
was about sounds (birds, esp seagulls, cash tills, bus bells,)
about tastes (toffee, cheese and butter, hot tea, tomato sandwiches at cricket, sausage rolls at football,)
was about touch ( football studs caked with mud, of ice cream tubs, corduroy, leather handles and steering wheels)
now it’s almost all visual and generated by someone else through social media.
Nostalgia?
it’s not what it used to be.
I enjoyed this. Thank you, Eleanor. I also like the updated cover photo. Very theatrical, darling!
