now where were we?

I feel that recently I feel of a cliff. Or, not so much a cliff as a pesky, unexpected part of the ground that was uneven. Or just the back step. I just fell off.

Blame She Stole My for stealing my every patience, blame life, blame end of financial year, whatever – I’ve been feeling lost. Some parts good lost, some parts bad lost. Either way, I have just realised that it is time to pull my finger out, because I have a helluva month coming up.

First invitation to you – Page vs Stage.

Here’s what Facebonk has to say about it:

FreeVerse! is the ultimate duel between the fine traditions of performance and page poetry. Each event, curated & emceed by Ghostboy, pairs an established page poet with a spoken word artist as they share their work back and forth, poem for poem. Part chat show / part performance bout / all poetry.

The third bout features the creator of the Melbourne Poetry Map and mistress of the spoken word swoon, Eleanor Jackson VS Thomas Shapcott and Anne Elder Prize winning poet Rosanna Licari.

Pens down. Ink will be shed…

Supported by Australian Poetry Inc and Queensland Poetry Festival.

This event is also part of the National Year of Reading.

When: Wed 13 Jun 2012, 7:30 pm –
Venue: Red Box, level 2, State Library
Cost: Free
More information: SLQ Events, 07 3840 7768

What do I have to say about that? Do come along and see. Last time I saw Scott Sneddon/Darkwing Dubs going big moment to small moment with Brett Dionysius in the beautiful Red Room of the State Library, I was duly impressed at the format and the foment. It would be lovely to see you all.
