I never trained as an actor, so don’t have any particular preshow routine. No formal vocal warmups, although I like to have a little practice, make sure I can remember my own name.
Even so, I do have strange little rituals. One of the main ones is to take a few moments to say thank you in advance. It often makes a great deal of sense to say thank you when something is over, because you can be sure exactly what you have to be grateful for. Sometimes, however is nice to be grateful for the fact that some people took a chance on you.
So thank you to all those who have helped in Shave and a Haircut. There are many more I could name but let’s start with a few.
Jon has opened his doors at HQ Male Gprooming to provide us with the space with just the right touch of glamour, we have amazing music from Tom Hogan all guitar gorgeous and strum sensual, Thomas Day provided us with toot toot imagery and film to woo you with, while Sarah Wood it gave us an incredible graphic design, and Bonney Corbin is on the blocks as our tech. I have had several masculine fails in the 30 or so days that Betsy and I allowed ourselves to try and become better men, but our brothers in arms have been so beautiful it might even hurt a bit.
Right in the feels.
As always, the most gratitude goes to Betsy Turcot without whom none of this would be possible. No man is an island.
