Eleanor Jackson is a Filipino Australian poet,
performer, arts producer, cyclist, writer, gal
about town, feminist, freewheeler, and
friend. One day, she is going to be an
ideas curator. Which basically
means, she will tell you
exactly what she thinks.
Until then, you’ll have
to read between
the lines.
The program includes a writers workshop with critically acclaimed author Christos Tsiolkas; a panel on ethnic media curated by media advisor and past editor of English version of Neos Kosmos , Fotis Kapetopoulos; walking tours through Footscray with FCAC elder in residence, Uncle Larry Walsh; a panel with author Alice Pung and poet and debut novelist, Omar Musa; the launch of the new Indigenous and ethnic lifestyle magazine, Ascension; and readings and performances by members of the West Writers Group and the Still Nomads collective.
The program runs all day, and features some excellent panels, including one on What is Australian Writing?, which will feature Peril Editor in Chief, Eleanor Jackson alongside Bec Zajac (Overland), André Dao (Right Now) and chaired by Sam Cooney (publisher and editor-in-chief of The Lifted Brow).
