Eleanor Jackson is a Filipino Australian poet,
performer, arts producer, cyclist, writer, gal
about town, feminist, freewheeler, and
friend. One day, she is going to be an
ideas curator. Which basically
means, she will tell you
exactly what she thinks.
Until then, you’ll have
to read between
the lines.
at your peril, at my pleasure
A great deal is happening 1 November. With most pleasure, I would like to encourage submissions to Peril magazine, which close on 1 November.
Peril’s current call-out is for a double issue. We invite contributors to consider dualities, binaries, opposites – for eg Light/Dark; Inside/Outside. You can consider writing about “good” in one issue, and then another contribution that grapples with “evil” in another. We are considering paired submissions for both issues, however, we’re also happy to accept single issue submissions.
Other examples of binaries that you can consider:
- Inside / Outside
- Within / Without
- Loose/Tight
- Old/New
- Open/Closed
- Good/Evil
- Sparse/Dense
- Hot/Cold
While we are asking contributors to consider the theme, for this round of submissions, we are also happy to accept pitches for contributions that are not theme-related.
We accept prose, poetry, non-fiction, essays, blog posts with a word limit of 1000 words.
We welcome spoken word submissions in video format.
We accept submissions of any kind of sound or visual art, as long as it can be presented online.
See that last bit? Video submissions for poetry too. Oh my goodness the gracious.
