Activate your neural and genetic equipment by listening in this Saturday between 1-2pm on 4ZZZ fm’s At the Local. Domenico Natoli and I will be straddling the (same) mic and talking with two of the incredible, talented poets being featured at the upcoming Queensland Poetry Festival, 23-25 August 2013.

Shane Rhodes is the 2013 Arts Queensland Poet in Residence. He is the author of five collections of poetry, including The Wireless Room, Holding Pattern, The Bindery, and most recently, Err. His poetry has won numerous awards, and has been featured in national and international anthologies. Shane is the poetry editor for Arc, Canada’s only national poetry magazine.

Pascalle Burton’s manoeuvres with words, sound and artefact are usually founded in cultural theory. She’s performed at venues and festivals in Australia and overseas, with projects such as The Stress of Leisure, The Outlandish Watch and Flight.  Her debut collection, A Vast Laugh, was released through Small Change Press in 2008. www.pascalleburton.wordpress.com.

We might even drop a little Bertie Blackman and Sue Ray, both 4ZZZ stalwarts who’ll be sharing the stage with some of poetry’s finest at the Judith Wright Centre.

Listen on line or via iPhone app or on demand if you miss it!
