For you may want to make some room on your insides. For the Brisbane Emerging Festival is coming up very shortly to fill it up.
It shall comprise of Brisbane’s leading emerging artists from across visual art, performance, experimental and contemporary music, dance, fashion, film, design and spoken word. The festival will take over the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts for a one night showcase and celebration of Brisbane’s creative culture.
In 2013, we have:
- A visual art exhibition of contemporary emerging artists.
- A performance and presentation main stage.
- Experimental sound and music spaces.
- Experimental theatre and dance performances.
- Urban art installations.
- An emerging film makers screening.
- Spoken word performances.
Over the coming weeks, I shall be talking a bit more about our last bullet points (that’s the one that kills you), which includes work from new fresh faces like Simon Kindt, Angela Willock, Tony Mutton, and Liz Bennet together with some slightly more out of the cocoon heads like Scott Sneddon, Betsy Turcot and myself.
But as a starting point, I’d like you to start considering the following:
