As you may or may not know, Betsy Turcot and I have begun collaboration on a follow up show to She Stole My Every Rock and Roll. This new collaboration, Chosen Family, looks at some of the same ideas as She Stole My (love, commitment, loss and joy and oh my word did she just say that) and will again be a part of the Anywhere Theatre Festival. We’ve just met Mim and Jordan our hosts at Two Trees Espresso and I can reassure you it’s a pretty sweet space. Only three months for you to secure a first date whose night you can ruin on the 16, 17 or 18 of May.
Last year, Betsy and I performed at Jet Black Cat Music, which was almost as much of a pleasure as doing the show itself – connecting with the generous and genuine group of people at Jet Black who are passionate about music and art. Next week, Friday 1 March, at 6pm, there’s going to be some more music – from the inimitable Ahliyah Farebrother of Li Li Kite – at this self-same venue and some art to boot. Look out for Rhyll Tonge, who is summer sweat and memory and myself, who is all foot jiggle and spring into action will be accompanying the warmth and the words of that light the kite. And all of it’s free – 72A Vulture St, West End, from 6pm. Check out the poster here. .
Because I have a very small comfort zone, I anticipate being right the freak out of it. Please do come along…
