can I invite you

to the National Slam Final?

I think you are going to heaps enjoy it.

there’s a light in your vein

and because I’ve been living
in the dark for so long
drinking the cool that
seeps from the rock
eating only the moss
and the mould
from the crevice,
I open up your jugular
and I start drinking,
long draughts of you
as if you were a rain storm in summer
or just the act of volition

that triggers all sin
