Tony’s support to women in poetry in our local group of peeps – for my mind at least – as always been in the quiet achiever camp: Tony Listens. A quiet word after a gig that shows that someone, even just one someone, has been listening hard enough to catch that turn of phrase, the gentle of the metaphor and then reflected back their comments with more than a “that was awesome”, can be hard one and well-savoured.
