the tour is love

Marianne Vos. What more could be said. Awesome. Clara Hughes is still my favourite. Because I am big on personality, not just winning. Ladies, I’d have loved to serve you better by giving you the coverage you so richly deserve. I have warmth in my heart for Pietro, who was my noblest Giro Donne supporter, trying ever so hard to make the stars align.

Of course, all is well over in France. See Bradley Wiggins, who speaks gooder French than SBS. He is good.

After some allegedly very exciting stages, I have to admit, I have fallen off the back of the bunch. My elastic has snapped. I am retiring from the Tour de France. No more folks. It’s just going to happen.

I will be coming out of retiringment to head to the ARCHIVE FOR THE 12th. Here is the details.

Thursday 12th July, 9.30pm – 1.30 am (times are an estimate only!)

Come & watch Stage 11 of the 2012 Tour De France, live at Archive Beer Boutique, 100 Boundary St, West End with all your South Bank bunch friends. This event is definitely open to SBB riders, their wives/ husbands/ partners/ significant others and friends (Hint: if you are reading this site YOU ARE INVITED!). But the venue limit will be 80 people, so get in quick.

Door charge: $20 ea (finger food provided, you buy your own drinks)

The proceeds of the evening (after costs) go to Conductive Education Queensland, a truly marvelous charity organisation (about which disclaimers apply!***)

And this weekend is Pushies Galore. I’ll be showing and shining. Domenico and I spoke to Gavin and tomorrow I will put up a bit of cast of pod. You’ll be hearing from me.

And in a week or so, I will be wearing something pretty in stupidly inappropriate circumstances. Probably.

This weekend was just a real blow out. Everything pressed reset on itself and the car accident was probably just the tip of the iceberg. I won’t go into details here, they’re beyond my vocabulary to explain. Things are not as I intended them to be and yet I feel very present. Like, nothing is as you expected.

Oh, so what I mean is – I love the Tour, the Tour is love, but I just can’t cope with that at the moment. Recoil. Rewind. Retract. If everything you have thought was going to be the case was not going to be the case, what would you do? Like, if you hear your favourite song, but they’re not playing it for you, is it still your favourite song?
