Eleanor Jackson is a Filipino Australian poet,
performer, arts producer, cyclist, writer, gal
about town, feminist, freewheeler, and
friend. One day, she is going to be an
ideas curator. Which basically
means, she will tell you
exactly what she thinks.
Until then, you’ll have
to read between
the lines.
I got no BEAF with you
Perhaps you’re free on the evening of the 18th of February?
I believe you should try and make yourself so, because some of the finest, most energetic and dynamic of Brisbane’s spoken word performers will be taking part in the Brisbane Emerging Arts Festival at Metro Arts in the city.
But the kind of wordsmith wonderment that you’ve come to expect from poets such as Betsy Turcot, Doubting Thomas, Dark Wing Dubs, Fern Thompsett and Rhyll Tonge is not even the half of what the festival has to offer. Naturally, it’s the half I’m really into, but the festival is going to feature some four floors of visual art, film, performance, fashion and music. Consider the your yearly dose of what’s coming out of the woodwork in Brisbane.
You know you want to.
