Betsy and Eleanor are available as workshop facilitators, both as individuals and together. They are particularly interested in supporting diversity and acceptance through storytelling and creativity.

Betsy offers poetry workshops for secondary students. With a background in Secondary English teaching, Betsy brings a considered approach to students and their learning. Betsy gives new writers the tools to find their voice and hone their craft.

“Betsy’s workshop was an engaging and interactive opportunity for students to develop a greater use and understanding of poetic techniques and poetry itself. As a former high school teacher, Betsy understood the nature of teaching poetry to adolescents, and her activities and explanations elucidated a number of misconceptions teenagers have of poetry. The activities were interesting, engaging and easily transferable to other classrooms. All students and teachers appreciated Betsy’s expertise and ideas.”

– Simon Rogers, Head of Department – English, Literacy, LOTE / Lowood State High School – ‘CREATING THE FUTURE’

Eleanor also offers workshops, primarily for adults, however she has also worked with secondary students, including workshops for hearing impaired children. She is particularly interested it the use of poetry for storytelling, developing first-person narrative and sharing stories of people and place, which participants have considered both sensitive and inspiring.
