At one point in my life I was obsessed with second hand Levi 501s (registered something or the other). I was neither a mod, a greaser, a rocker or a skinhead, and didn’t look the slightest bit like Tom Cruise, but somehow – for a short woman with thick thighs, I imagined that I looked quite good in a boxy legged jean.
This is not actually the case, but I have learnt to cope.
Now, after reading about twenty five different blog posts in the last month or so lauding the company about their new cycling commuter range, I finally thought to myself why not check them out this weekend?
Regrettably, these wonderful cycling something something pants are not manufactured for women. Susan at Rocket Fuel and a whole bunch of Sydney cyclists are all over the why, but me, I’m still wondering about the wherefore.
The weather is hotting up here in Brisbane. I just saw the woman on the green single speed with the blue Bern helmet again and she was riding in a skirt. I’m considering the bright future. I have yet to work out how not to look terrible on my own bike here in the humidity and how not to get sunburnt, and it’s impeding my ability to meet others who look hot in their helmets.
But this is for another day – today, I am off enjoying the public holiday by doing of all shameful things – driving a car. Hope other, better equipped souls are out mountain biking with the most excellent crew at MTB skills.
*okay, probably just disinterest.
Mt Joyce was tops today. Didn’t cross paths with Rowan’s crew, but there were a lot of people having a ton of fun out there.
Sunshine Coast looks nice! Hope you went up to Maleny :-)
