I feel the need, the need for tweed

Tonight is the opening of the very wonderful Bike Film Festival, organised so ably by the very wonderful folk at Ambiguous Horse. Check out the program and find something pleasing. Shouldn’t be too hard.

If you like bikes and you like films then this is your match made in heaven. Your Romeo to your Juliet. Your Arthur to your Guinevere. Your Brad to your Angelina. I’ll be there. It’d be nice to see you.

And if you felt like looking the goods, you might want to take your lead from these willing wheelies (me included) who gave of their time to support the upcoming Tweed Run (29 Nov, 1pm leaving from the State Library).

Among them is Mick. Always friendly, frequently impeccably dressed, Mick also produces some damn fine bike wear. In case your treadly gets jealous of your helmet, then you are able to compensate with a beautifully detailed leather saddle, great grips and ever-evolving toe straps. All in matching leather.

Thanks also to Peter for taking these shots and for generally making the devoted tweedsters feel like war-time supermodels, despite the 30 degree plus heat – look out for them in the BFF promos! Or if you’re not able to come to tonight’s festival launch, then perhaps you could check out his photography at the New North Gallery this evening. Who said cyclists don’t know culture?
