big helmets, little helmets

We lost a good soldier along the way, but even the rains couldn’t (completely) deter the dedicated few. We had to take a couple of rain/hail breaks, I fell over straight onto a bollard for some inexplicable reason, and apparently vodka, borscht and tears require you to get off the bike in order to have a drink, but we made it in the end. I believe it was the motivation of dumplings/Whip It that keep us going.

Having set my expectations realistically medium, the movie was actually extremely entertaining. It had considerable warm heart, rad tatts, low cut tees, lady-biffo, “there til the end” friendship and the best underwater teen make-out scene I’ve seen in ages.

Admittedly, I believe that after two hours of freezing wetness, the act of being dry, warm and out of the weather with a full belly, a bag of chocolates and good friends would have been more than enough to ring my bell.
