a bright spark!

Yesterday was – weatherwise at least – a bit crap. Grey, grey, grey, and all happening in the defeated, chilly, windy “wasn’t it just Spring?” kind of a way.

Because I am a fair weather cyclist (I’m ashamed, but it’s true, and I don’t want you to see me on public transport one day and feel all betrayed), I was standing at the tram stop and staring wistfully at the dedicated – but largely freezing group of passing cyclists.

Suddenly, out of the grey, popped Alice, smiling and weaving delicately round the cars, looking for all intents and purposes like it was the sunniest, best day ever for a ride and that she had either Babka escargots or tickets to Bjork in her handbag.

Which is, I guess, what you get for taking your new fixie with ultrapink accessories, apricot scarf and engine red helmet out for a ride on a who gives a frick about the weather day. Happy is hot in the best way.
