what’s new pussy cat?

I wouldn’t describe myself as much of an alley cat.

I’m more of a mainly lying sleepy in the sunshine on warm concrete kind of cat. From time to time, I’m a flash of mottled fur down sweet suburban streets. Usually in search of food. Hardly an alley cat.

But, today – I made an exception. The sun was shining, the clouds scudded lazily across a blue sky and the air smelled of spring. I even forgave Daylight Savings for stealing my hour sleep. With a fresh pair of toe straps from Busyman Bicycles to match my well-loved saddle, I figured that perhaps Team Handsome’s fatalistic optimism might rub off, if not improve my team’s chances of winning.

And there’s no sense bitching that the bike scene’s all about the boys, if you’re totally unprepared to give it a go at least once. Thanks Z for the encouragement to Fix Up and Look Smart.

For the record, I had a great time. Despite my team ditching me for the carpark photo (what? you say I was downstairs scoping some lid… !) I have to say it was a sweet roll. Nice prizes too, for those so motivated. Ta heaps to the organisers.
