There is much to admire in this image, the light gloaming of the sky, the ghostly snow spray from the tires, the fact that it reminds me that the Roobaix is a coming up. And if you like posters and if you like pretty bikes, well you can go look at Poster Cabaret for a bit of Sally Bowles arranging on your walls.
There is also to admire in this image a certain chutzpah, a certain boldness, and cheerful optimism. Because somebuddy at Poster Cabaret sent me a nice email acknowledging their shameless plug to tell me look at this link, to see some nice posters in the hope that I might do as I am doing right now, give a little free air time for those who like bikes and like posters.
To be honest, it’s not really my thing, plugging for anonymous products (until I’m getting paid to promote Valvoline), and imagining that my awesomely large readership is a target demographic well, that’s actually very sweet. I don’t feel exploited and commercialised, more surprised that anyone would think this is a large shopping target group. And it shows that I’m a sucker for good manners.
