if you have kids

Can you please let me know if you feel like this sometimes?

When I look at this photo, I don’t just see Lucy, sitting calmly after a ride and having a bit of a laugh with some friends.  Well, I do see a bit of that.

But I also feel this weird “oh, isn’t she all growed up” feeling because before, Lucy was totally a stripey spunk. But now, with a new helmet that will not cook her brain on a long ride, I feel like she’s a mad bike polo mamma. I love that sense of graduation from casual cyclist to catlike/lucy-liu/barracuda/trippy taco/diva.

On reflection, this is probably an un-parental feeling. But hell, I never said I had kids.
