things that make me happy

When the really cute couple who were riding along just as you came out of the cafe, but were too slow to ask them to pose, are coincidentally riding past you again when later you are on your way somewhere no where in particular. And you stop them, but it’s Very Awkward but embarrassment does not cause you to explode. Instead, you’re left with the sense that this is a very cute lady, who has a very simple helmet on, and she is pedaling away on her little lady’s treadley in a cute pair of high-waisted seventies jeans, and the sun coming through the trees, and the horses nuzzling them goodselves make you feel wistful and relaxed and like it was Spring not Autumn.

Other things that make me happy is the fact that I am riding in the Roobaix having managed to snag the Black Sheepplace after no small effort on my behalf. Thank you Black Sheep for dropping out and making it possible.

While I would like to say that this is a sign that democracy is alive and well, in fact I believe that this is a sign that if you get a few nice folk posting on a forum, or on their punkfriendly bike blog, or some nice ladies ride group, and then your mum gets on the Filipino grapevine and forwards the voting link to everyone she knows, then you can achieve a lot with a sense of desperation, an overly enthusiastic entry and a willingness to exploit cheap wordplay.

I have appointed a coach. They suck already.
